What is a pole building?

A pole building is an adaptable, and reliable structure made from post-frame construction. These building utilize posts set several feet into the ground as the structural anchor, rather than the traditional foundation used by a stick-frame home. This method allows for a wide variety of applications - from storage units, to horse barns, to barndominiums!  

Traditional pole barns received their name during the Great Depression, when rural communities were forced to use recycled telephone poles to construct their barns and shops. Modern pole buildings have come a long way since then, but the base concept still holds.

Ty Linnell is the founder and owner of Heritage Pole Buildings. He started working in residential construction with his father at the age of 12, and has continued the legacy by creating his own company to someday pass down to his two sons.
